week day school

When we moved last spring I called the two churches that we were planning to visit to find out about their preschool programs. In April both programs were full! I was shocked. So I put her on the waiting list at both schools. All summer long I thought about it and decided maybe this year would be a year at home. And I was at peace with it. But towards the end of summer when Keri started going back to work for football and inservice I started worrying (which is something that I'm asking God to work on in me by the way). Worrying that maybe she needed the time at school and that maybe being a football widow with two kids full time was going to be really hard! So I started praying that God's will would be done in the situation and that I'd be okay with it either way. In the meantime I was inspired to do more teaching at home and came up with a plan thanks to a wonderful friend from church**. Then last week we got a call that Addie had a spot at our church's program. I was ecstatic. I knew that it was all in His plan and I love that she goes to church and school at the same place. In our moving every two years kind of life, I love a little stability and regularity! We met Addie's teacher last week. Guess what? Her husband is a football coach at the other high school in town. There's something about being married to a coach that bonds you instantly to other coaches' wives. I loved her and that just sealed the deal that God sure has a better plan than I do! Addie started preschool today. She was excited to go although I had to wake her up so we wouldn't be late! She is her father's daughter. She had a wonderful day and can't wait to go back on Thursday.

**I'm still doing some teaching at home. Addie is so eager to learn and she is the kind of kid that needs something going on or she will be bored! So I'm using this curriculum and so far Addie and I are really enjoying it. We do it when Doak is asleep and it's been a sweet, sweet time for us.

I'm so glad you added this. I have been trying to work on stuff with Maelynn while Beclynn is sleeping too - but I have already run out of things to keep her attention. We have been working on her letters and numbers - but I don't have anything fun for her - just coloring pages.
