Coyote Football Wrap Up

IMG_7311

The 2011 football season is over. The end of the season is always bitter sweet. Sweet because Keri is home so much more after football ends, but bitter because we really love our football life!

IMG_0365

Addie participated in the Coyette Clinic again this year and was able to dance at halftime with the Coyettes, just like she did last year.

IMG_0368

Addie loves dancing and being on the field was so fun for her!

IMG_0391

Just like last year, Keri came out from halftime early to watch his girl dance and give her a big hug on the sidelines.

Doak and Harrison always had fun together at games this fall

Grandad drove in for the game and he and Brock had a fun time together!

Cookie and Papa were there too!

Here's a glimpse of what my Friday nights really looked like. Every single game I wore Brock in the Ergo and got him to sleep through most of the second half. He's such a trooper!

This is one of 'our boys' Jesse. He's a football player, in youth at our church, leader at FCA and just an awesome young man! He loves Brock too!

IMG_1281

Addie and Keri loved their Friday morning donut dates, here they are the last Friday of the season.

These boys, Clay and JP, were two of Keri's players 4 years ago at South Garland. We still keep in touch with them and they always make an annual appearance to come see Coach T.

FNL game #7

Game 7 Friday night lights took us to a town near our own. We were blessed to have Cookie and Papa here with us-games are so much easier with a few extra hands!

me and my girl (and a little chocolate on A's face) Friday nights are anything goes in the junk food department. Addie chose a 'sneekers'.

Brock got lots of love from Cookie and Papa!

Oh Addie, what a pose!

Game 7 was played against very successful program with lots of playoff appearances in years past. Our boys really played their best and the final score was 35-0.

FNL #6

Game 6 was an away game and it took us over an hour to get there. Even though I had the best of intentions of being early to the game, we ended up getting there just in time to give Keri a kiss before the team ran onto the field. The kids were great travelers and enjoyed a Taco Bueno dinner in the car on the way.

IMG_7059

Keri's Dad and his nephew Cash met us at the game. They drove about 3 hours to get there-now that's dedication! We've loved having Grandad at so many games this year!

IMG_7066

I love that the evenings are cool now and we get to bring jackets to the games instead of sweating! Addie enjoyed the game and played with Doak and the daughter of works the high school assistant principal.

IMG_7067

Doak deemed himself the official cricket stomper at the game. We've always told our kids not to squish bugs and that we only hurt living creatures if they are going to hurt us. When I reminded him this was his explanation. "Crickets are the predator of grasshoppers. So I have to squish the crickets so they don't hurt the grasshoppers." Can't argue with a boy with that much logic!

The Coyotes had another heart breaking loss. It's been a tough season, but we're pushing through!

FNL game #5

coyote

It's homecoming! It's really a shame that I have no pictures from Friday. But what can I say, sometimes you have to choose between taking pictures and taking care of your kids. Now you know what I picked!

The Coyotes were up against a team that we beat easily last year. And expected the same to happen this year. We were up at halftime 21-7 but things went downhill quickly in the second half. In the end we lost 29-28. It was a disappointing loss.

Next week we take a one hour road trip for game #6. Let's go Coyotes!

FNL game #4

No pictures this week. Right at game time, the weather turned stormy. There were two 30 minute delays due to lightning. Keri sent us home (we hadn't eaten dinner and planned to eat at the game, but didn't want to eat in the rain) and promised to call when there was a final call about the game. When I didn't hear from him, I called his Dad who was in town at the game. They started the game an hour late and at this point it was almost 9 and still raining quite hard. So I made the decision to stay home. I hated to miss and am so thankful for my sweet friend who texted me updates throughout the game. Coyotes lost again, 27-14. They played well but made 3 fumbles and got outplayed. 2-2 is the season record so far. Hoping to get a W next week!

FNL game #3

IMG_6998

Game 3 was another home game against a neighboring town. The parking lot was packed, there were many fans on both sides.

IMG_6999

The Hubers joined us again. Here are Doak and Harrison, just hanging out in "their" bleachers.

IMG_7003

Nanna, Pop Pop, and Uncle Chad came in for the game too. The kids were well entertained and enjoyed having so many loved ones there to play with.

Coyotes lost the game 61-21, but our opponents were a talented team that even won state at 7 on 7 this summer. On to the next game!

Friday Night Lights game #2

IMG_6847

Game #2 was a home game. There's nothing better than seeing our small town's stands packed out to cheer for the Coyotes! We love being at home because we get to see Keri before the game and wave to the coaches and players as they run out to the field.

IMG_6849

Grandad made the trip again last week to see the game, and he brought Ms. Kathy with him! They kept Brock happily entertained, played with Addie and Doak, and provided some yummy cotton candy at half time!

IMG_6855

Jennifer and her family, our sweet friends who joined us at almost every home game last season, came out to the game! These friends are so supportive of our family and we love them!!! That's Jenn's son Harrison in the middle, Doak on the right, and my friend Ashley's boy Jack on the left. These boys are great friends and along with their sisters they kept busy during the game by capturing grass hoppers in a cup they found on the ground. Not my idea of a fun time, but man, they loved it! They somehow convinced me to bring them all home to bury, but thankfully Grandad saved me by 'losing them'. Whew!

IMG_6859

The game was so fun, but wasn't exactly a nail biter! Coyotes won 70-26! Woohoo!

IMG_6864

We love going down on the field after home games. Another happy night for Keri! Brockstar happily played until about 9:30 then he fell asleep snuggled up in the ERGO.

IMG_6865

We're thrilled to be 2-0!

IMG_6866

Next up is a big rivarly game-Coyotes vs. Cardinals. We won last year 9-7, and plan to win again this year!
