Game 13

Game 13 was December 1 in Georgetown. The kids and I made the 3 hour trip and met Nanna and Uncle Mike at the game.

Addie and her friend Megan (her daddy is a coach too) found some shade laying on the bleachers.

Around the 3rd quarter Nanna took Addie and Brock to run off some energy under the bleachers. Megan joined them and so did Zoey (another coach's kid).

The game was a very exciting one, very back and forth as far as scoring goes. The mustangs were down by 5 with 2 minutes left and made some major profess moving the ball toward the end zone. The last play of the game was an incomplete pass in the end zone. It was a tough loss, but what a great season!  We loved cheering on the Mustangs this year and can't wait for next football season!

Game 12 Here come the mighty Mustangs! The kids and I drove to Brenham to watch the Mustangs play Austin Bowie HS. Mom and Dad caravaned with us and we had a great time together at the game.

Keri's former co worker Reed and his brother Mark came to the game. We know Reed from Anna and his brother and family live close to us in Houston and have become great friends!

Playoffs round 1-bi district champs

The Mustangs rolled over Conroe HS 77-7. Dad and I went to the game while Mom stayed home with the (sick) kids. Thanks Mom! We enjoyed the cold game and loved watching the Mustangs in a big win! Bi district champs!

Mustang Game #1

Game #1 took us to our opponent's field about 30 minutes south of home. The stadium was easy to find and in no time at all we found the other coaches wives and kids and were ready to start the game.

Pre-game kiddos, waiting to see daddy.

Brock and Addie cheering for the mustangs!

Yeah! There's daddy!

And here he is in action during the game. The mustangs played hard and they are talented! The mustangs were victorious with a final score of 43-7.

After the game Keri took the kids to run on the field while I sat down for a few minutes. The game was so fun but so exhausting trying to keep up with all the kids.

Even though the kids went to sleep at 11pm, they still woke up at 7am! That's okay though because winning makes for a happy weekend for us all.

We will be back at it again next Friday night for our first home game.

Go mustangs!

Mustang scrimmage

IMG_8344

It's the end of August and that means FOOTBALL season around our house!  Friday was the Mustang scrimmage.  So we got all our red and black gear out (girls' shirts from KrisTees, Brock's from JCPenney, Doak's from Underarmour)

The best part about football is that the kids want to go cheer for Daddy.  They love Friday night lights!

It goes without saying that this little guy will be my biggest challenge this year.  He's old enough to wander, not old enough to understand that he has to stay with Mommy to be safe.  Young enough to be in bed at kickoff, but too old to fall asleep in the baby carrier.  He was really good Friday night and with the help of a big sucker, he sat still for a while on the bleachers.  Throughout the game he kept saying "bootball guys".

The best part of being a coach's kid is running on the field after the game!

*no official score is kept during a scrimmage, but you know the coach kept count in his head.  Mustangs came up on top!
