Mid-morning Addie brought a heap of toys into the kitchen and she and Doak were played so happily. I took that as my chance to get some work done and I was dusting in the living room and popping in the kitchen every few minutes to check on them. During one of the pop-ins I caught Addie feeding Doak a blueberry muffin! She was trying to be so helpful, so I had to explain that Doak couldn't eat that yet. She's never fed him anything before and understands that he only eats baby food so I'm not sure why she thought a muffin was okay.
I quickly took that away and gave them a bowl of cheerios to share instead. Addie kindly dumped them on the floor so Doak could pick them up easily!
Keri worked 7am-4pm, but he got home before dinner and bedtime and the kids and I were thrilled to have him home in daylight! We had some tasty tacos for dinner and put the kids to bed. Sunday we made it to church early which is huge for us! Keri dropped Addie off and I took Doak upstairs to the nursery. The preschool minister recruited me to work in the 2 year old room since that room had both volunteers call in sick that morning. I enjoyed working in that class with 6 boys and 1 girl. I definitely got a taste of what Doak will be like in a year! Boys are so different from girls! I made it to church just in time for a great sermon about having joy no matter what circumstances come up in your life. Sunday afternoon Keri worked but made it home in time to play with Addie and put her to bed. And since I'm sharing recipes I made this Chicken Parmesan last night and it was delicious!

you have just introduced me to a GREAT new blog - I'm so excited to have some new crockpot recipes!
Is that a red kitchen????? I love it! I just painted our half-bath red, it was quite the task. And if I remember you had wallpaper to contend with. Hope you guys are doing well!
i love my crock pot. :0)
we had a lazy weekend too! i like those. (i don't like the ones where j has to work, though, and they're getting increasingly frequent!)
Ooohh-- thanks for the crockpot blog link! The recipes look fabulous!!
What cute pictuers. How funny that Addie tried to give Doak a muffin!
what a thoughtful big sister addie is! I loved the muffin/cheerios story. And she looks adorable in her dance costume! i bet she is having a blast!
Addie is such a good big sis!
Addie is such a sweet mommy. Berkley does the same type things sometimes with both Beckham & Brenner. I think girls are just born little mommies. So sweet!
