glowfest

IMG_7240

Saturday after Keri got home from work we bundled up and went to Glowfest in our little town. The local park was full of bounce houses, booths with games and things to buy. There was delicious food like kettle corn and brisket tacos and of course the playground was open for the kids.

IMG_7242

Brock had a little bit hard time because he just really wants to be down on the ground! He did get down at the playground and enjoyed crawling around and trying to put things in his mouth!

Doak found this airplane on the ground and was content to play with it for most of the evening.

Addie loved watching the balloons inflate, while wearing a cool Indian headband.

IMG_7250

The balloons were beautiful! It was too windy for them to fly Saturday evening, but we enjoyed watching them glow.

Just before we left we got up close to the balloons.

Happy Halloween!

Monday night is FCA night at our house and we usually have 15-20 kids here for FCA. The sweet leaders of the group asked if we could have a little Halloween party and if they could then take the kids trick or treating. Addie and Doak were so excited to go trick or treating with the 'big teenagers'!

IMG_7264

I had planned to stay home with Brock and pass out candy, but since he had a nice long afternoon nap and was still happy at 7pm we walked the neighborhood with the kids, Keri, and the FCA students.

The kids stopped to take a picture with sweet Darbie. We love this girl and her momma so much!

trunk or treat

Our church held Trunk or Treat the Wednesday night before Halloween. Addie and Doak couldn't wait to put on their costumes and go see their friends.

IMG_7217

Oh my. This is the best picture I could get of all 3 kids. Brock will not sit still and Doak is really into crawling on the ground for some reason. But, here are my little sweet peas, and as I look back at this picture in years to come I will remember this stage of life exactly! Doak as Robin Hood, Addie as a ballerina, Brock as a football player. (yes Brock is wearing the same jersey that Doak wore on his first Halloween)

IMG_7220

me with two of my sweeties, Doak was already on the move by this point!

IMG_7222

Keri came and set up his truck as a trunk or treat spot-we loved hanging out with him!

IMG_7224

Harrison the race car driver and Doak as Robin Hood. Doak posed himself this way and is also holding onto Harrison so "he won't run off". That boy is a hoot!

Brock is at that stage where he desperately wants down and doesn't understand why he can't crawl around in the middle of the street. So we took turns holding him and letting him watch from the stroller.

IMG_7226

Keri brought a football toss that the kids loved playing with. There were also hayrides, games, and, of course, lots of candy!

IMG_7233

Keri and Jeremy dressed up as twins (on accident). Pretty funny since their shirts are almost the same, they have the same cross necklace, and both have that coach look going on!

IMG_7235

Sweet Meredith is one of our favorite babysitters and a girl that we all love being around.

IMG_7236

Andrew (in a tiny helmet!) and Gage helped us pass out candy.

IMG_7237

Keri put some extra eye black on us-he's a mess.

A great time was had by all at trunk or treat!

more pumpkins!

Saturday morning we decided to go back to the pumpkin patch so Addie, Nanna, and Pop Pop could join in on the fun.

IMG_1523

I knew Addie would love the animals and the whole farm atmosphere and she did!

IMG_1527

Doak was glad to be back at the pumpkin patch and show Addie around.

Later Saturday afternoon we set out to carve our pumpkins. The kids had so much fun deciding on the faces and Nanna did the dirty work of carving and scooping out the insides.

Keri asked Doak if he wanted Lightning McQueen on his pumpkin-good thing he has some artistic talent! It turned out so cute and Doak loved it!

Pumpkin Patch

IMG_1470

Last Friday Doak and I went to a nearby Pumpkin Patch with our sweet friends Jennifer and Harrison. (I met Jennifer at Addie's school. She has a daughter in Kindergarten who is one month older than Addie and her son is a few days older than Doak. Our families have become great friends!)

IMG_1476

I realized that Doak and I haven't been on any fun outings just the two of us lately, so I really enjoyed our time together. Doak loved all the animals. He wouldn't feed them, but he talked to them and petted them.

Harrison and Doak had the best time together! They loved the hayride!
