-food-we ate dinner at the game, actually Addie ate a hot dog (no bun) while standing outside the stadium, I ate a burger cooked by the booster club, I brought suckers and gum for Addie and some cheerios for Doak. This kept them entertained during moments when I really wanted to watch the game and they needed something to do!
-toys-Doak played with an empty water bottle, a plastic baby food lid, and Addie played with a calculator! Whatever works! I usually reserve some special toys for my Friday night bag that can keep them happy for a while.
-friends-we sat with the other coaches' families and it helps so much to have other people that we know around! Addie can go and sit with another coach's wife or play with the other kids. She can roam around a little bit but still be in the safe zone since we were surrounded by people we know.
-Nanna to the rescue! Keri's mom called Friday afternoon and met us at the game. Keri's uncle Mike came too! Of course Addie loved having someone else to play with and talk to and 4 extra hands helped a lot.
-my ergo-I know I blog lots about baby wearing, but it has been a lifesaver with Doak! I got the ergo this summer with football games in mind. It's comfortable for long periods of time and I got him to go to sleep and stay asleep for about an hour in it!
-left the camera at home-it's just one more thing to carry! I had it out to take with us, but it's SO big and I just couldn't imagine carrying Doak (20+lbs), my bag, the camera, plus holding Addie's hand!
It made for a crazy night and watching the game was tough, but it was so worth it to see Keri on the sideline waving to us and then getting to go out on the field after the game to celebrate the Hawk's first victory of the season!!!
Since I have no pictures from last night, here are a few from past seasons:
Cougars Season one-Addie was 3 months old and that season we went to every single game but one. This picture was taken on an exciting night. After a disappointing loss we came home and went to bed late. My parents were in town. Keri woke up about 2am in horrible pain. Dad drove him to the ER where we found out he had kidney stones!
Cougars Season two-Addie was 16 months old and we went to every single game and stayed the whole time too!
Colonels-this was taken at the season opening against Plano West where we won! Last year was the greatest because we made it all the way to the playoffs. We went to every game except the last playoff game because #1 I was 37 weeks pregnant, #2 it started at 9pm and #3 it was freezing and sleeting! We hope to be playing all the way through November again this year.

Great job - I took both girls last year - but have yet to get them to a game. They had runny noses last week so I got a babysitter for them. The plan is this week!! They did make it to the pep rally at least. Thanks for all the good ideas!
You are such a trooper! I would be terrified to bring both kids!!! you give me hope! :)
you're superwoman! we opted out of our season tickets this year...even with both J and I there at each game, we were too chicken to do it this season! :0)
Just think...September 26th...you, me, and 3 kids! Won't that be fun?!!
Yay for a first victory! I'm really not looking forward to trying to wrangle my squirmy-worm at Seth's games, but we'll see how it goes. You're a great inspiration!
that is wonderful! you are such a resourceful mom. I am glad you all three got to go out and support Keri!
Woo hoo! What a game! Heath looked very talented. Except for some opening day jitters and some run defense they were way tough. Certainly way too tough for Sherman. I look forward to seeing how they look as the season progresses. BTW, are the Hawks playing at Keri's old high school home field this week? Wilemon Stadium sounds familiar. Lisa and I won't make this game. I *might* make the Greenville game, but definitely want to attend the Rockwall game. Be prepared: Kate will want to sit on the Pearce side when we play you guys! She's been a dedicated Mustang since elementary school. She's playing varsity volleyball for North Jr. High 7th grade team.
I didn't take into account all of mom's pre-game planning and organizing, I only noticed the results. You made it look easy. Should have known it wasn't. And, of course, it helps to have such sweeties on your team. It was cool watching Addie playing with her bud and keeping me up to date on the location of the Hawk mascot and the condition of the deflated tunnel.
Go Hawks!
