Doak is 5!

IMG_8642

Our sweet Doak is 5!

IMG_8643

Our celebration spanned over a few days due to football season.  Keri and I gave him his gift on Friday Nov. 30th.

IMG_8645

We got him old school wooden blocks and have had so much fun building (and knocking down) castles, towers, and walls.

IMG_8646

Love these boys!

Saturday 12/1 we drove to Georgetown for playoff game #3.  We met Nanna there and after the game we spent the night in a hotel.  I brought balloons and a birthday banner and Dianna and I decorated after the kids fell asleep.  Since Doak loves Ninjago, I copied some ideas found on etsy and made Ninjago balloons.

Doak loved the decorations and was happy to open a present from Nanna and Pop Pop- the Ninjago Tread Assult- just what he had been wanting!

We sang happy birthday to Doak and he blew out candles on his waffle.

We loved seeing Uncle Mike, who drove up from Austin to see us.

After spending some time with Nanna and Mike we quickly got on the road and drove home to finish celebrating.

Cookie and Papa sent these cool magnetic building blocks called Smart Max.  All the kids love them!

He got more Legos and so many sweet gifts from family and friends.

We ended the evening with an ice cream cake that Daddy picked out.

We wrapped up the celebrating with more Ninjago balloons and chocolate chip cookies to share with Doak's classmates.

Brock's birthday celebration

IMG_8541
Since Brock's birthday was on Thanksgiving this year, we enjoyed a leisurely morning at home.  The big kids woke up early and sneaked downstairs.   We waited until we heard Brock waking up through the baby monitor before running up to his room and singing Happy Birthday.  He loved the attention!
 IMG_8544
Addie picked out a green Volkswagen Beetle to give to Brock this year
 IMG_8545
and Doak found a cool green train.  Brock loved both gifts and played so happily with them!
 IMG_8573
Keri had early morning football practice since they had a playoff game 2 days after Thanksgiving.  But he got home around 10:30 and we kept on celebrating!  I love this picture of these two boys!
 IMG_8574
Brock has really been into trains and cars lately.  Truth be told, there are more than enough cars already in our collection and we have a train table and train tracks too.
IMG_8576
So we just got Brock a little Melissa and Doug train set.  He's had fun playing with it.
IMG_8582
I knew Brock wouldn't eat cake, so I made sugar cookies for his birthday.  You can't tell but it's a letter B.  He loved blowing out his candle and he ate one bite of his cookie before moving on to play some more!
Later in the day Cookie and Papa arrived to celebrate with us.

After our Thanksgiving meal, they got out their present for Brock-a cozy coupe!  They have one at their house that he LOVES and he was thrilled to get his own.  We learned about 30 minutes into the process of putting it together that we should have done that when he was asleep.  He was so anxious to sit in his car that Dad and Keri had to take frequent breaks from working so Brock could sit in the incomplete car!

We had a great day celebrating our big 2 year old!  Happy 2nd birthday to our sweet Brock!

Doak's 4th birthday party

IMG_7462

Doak and his best buddy Harrison have birthdays that are just days apart. So this year Jennifer and I decided to throw a joint party for them. We invited a few friends over to Jenn's house for breakfast and playtime and all the kids came in jammies. It was low key, no stress, and so fun for the kids and adults!

IMG_7464

Sweet Jenn is a wonderful hostess and made the party so special for the boys.

IMG_7476

Brock and Pop Pop played and had a great breakfast.

IMG_7477

Doak's sweet friends brought some fun toys for the boys. Doak is loaded up with cars, planes, and books!

IMG_7479

We are so glad Nanna and Pop Pop could celebrate with us. They got Doak this cool helicopter which has been played with for many hours each day since he opened it!

IMG_7474

I can't think of a better way to celebrate these two boys. I'm so thankful for their friendship and that they get to grow up together! Happy birthday big boys!

Doak's 4th birthday

IMG_7427

Doak turned 4 on December 2nd

IMG_7435

His birthday fell on a Friday and we enjoyed celebrating all day. We woke him with balloons and the happy birthday song and we all ate donuts before Addie headed to school.

IMG_7437

Doak got some wonderful gifts and cards from our family and was so happy to play with new toys!

IMG_7442

Keri took the day off and took Doak to lunch, to a movie, and to pick out a toy with some birthday money he received.

IMG_1469

Nanna and Pop Pop met us at McAlister's for Doak's birthday dinner, followed by their delicious chocolate cake!

IMG_7445

After dinner Nanna and Pop Pop came back to our house for some play time and to spend the night.

IMG_7449

Doak showed Pop Pop all his new toys.

Happy birthday to our sweet Doak!

Brock is one!

Our sweet boy is one! His birthday brought back so many memories from November 22, 2010. It's hard to believe the tiny baby who joined our family last year is already talking, cruising, laughing, and has such a big personality!

We celebrated Brock's birthday with cupcakes while we were in Tennessee with Jeff's family. Brock loved his cupcake and having the whole family sing to him.

At one year Brock weighs just under 20 lbs. He wears size 3 diapers and 12 or 18 month clothes.

He is a pretty good eater, he loves fruit, yogurt, crackers, and baby food veggies. He drinks water from a straw cup and tried cows milk for the first time this week. He is still nursing 4-5 times a day and I will begin to wean him in the next few weeks.

Brock is a people person, he loves to smile and laugh and seeks out attention from loved ones and strangers. He is a happy, healthy one year old! Happy birthday Brock!
