9 months

Doak you are growing up so fast! This month you seemed to have changed more than any previous months. You are pulling up on anything and everything. You're so proud of yourself too! You love to pull up on the bathtub, on Addie's easel, and on all the chairs in the house. Everytime you pull up I have to keep myself from holding onto you. You are constantly falling or hitting your head as you try to sit down. You pulled a chair (light weight, but still!) on yourself and fell backwards. You pulled the ficus tree over on top of you. You are fearless. I now understand what it means to be the mom of a boy. Your sister is pretty daring but she has nothing on you! If I turn my back for a minute I can be sure that you're into something dangerous!

This month you have two new teeth bringing your total to 6-4 on the top and 2 on the bottom. You are loving food, but you don't want baby food. Really you want what we're eating and you're pretty upset if you can't have it. We're working on signing more, please, drink but so far you prefer your grunting language over sign language.

You've discovered Kylie this month and you love to play with her and watch her. Lately I've seen you crawl over to her, get close to her face and open your mouth for a kiss-yuck! You still love to play with Addie and she loves to play with you. I can tell we're entering the separation anxiety stage. You want Momma close by and you don't like it when I leave the room to do jobs around the house. You also love hanging out with Daddy and will sit on his lap and be content for long periods of time.

You're taking two naps that are about an hour and a half each. Every time I go to lay you down I put your silky blanket by your face and you dive for my shoulder. You're so good about going to sleep on your own. Usually I lay you down with your blanket and you pull your knees up under you and settle in for a good sleep.

You are getting so heavy and I'm going to have to step up my weightlifting to be strong enough to hold you! You weigh 20 lbs. 14 oz. and are 29 inches long! You're pretty solid and as Uncle Jeff said this summer, picking you up is like picking up a cinder block with arms and legs!

We think you are perfect in every way. We love you and we thank God every day for you!
