Today we sealed our fate as a small town family! After a lovely thrown together dinner (egg & cheese burrito and apple slices-we get extra fancy on Friday nights!) Keri and I felt the need to get out of the house. We decided to try out the Mom & Pop ice cream shop down the road. I asked Keri to take the back road so we could check out some more of our new home town. We ended up right by the high school and Keri noticed that the AD's truck was parked next to the field house. We pulled in to say hi and found that his whole family was with him. I enjoyed talking with the AD's wife and our 2 kids had the best time running around with their 3 kids. It only took the kids about 30 minutes to find a huge mound of dirt in the parking lot and climb to the top. I could see dirt flying out of the corner of my eye, but I thought I shouldn't deprive my kids of the simple pleasure of playing in the dirt. When we finally got the kids back to the car oh my goodness they were disgustingly dirty! Addie must have poured dirt directly on her hair because it started to look as red as the dirt pile! By the time we got the kids loaded up the Mom & Pop ice cream shop was closed (guess life shuts down at 8pm here!). So we drove down the road to the next town where they have a Braum's and all got ice cream cones. What a fun, simple, Friday night with the fam!
It was straight to the bathtub for a serious scrub down when we got home! Check out the ring around the bathtub tonight.

Good thing I was planning to clean bathrooms tomorrow!

But don't the kids clean up nice?

All ready for bed!

After a chapter of the latest Junie B. Jones book the kids were out like a light. Gotta love summer in our small town!
