you say goodbye, i say hello

Saturday, after we got everything moved we stopped by the Hawk house for one last goodbye. It's a house full of great memories and our two years as Hawks held many blessings for us! A friend of mine gave me a great idea to help our family transition as we moved. She told me to get a box and fill it up with things that represent our life in the Hawk house. Then we'd get a second box that would represent our new life as a small town family. That box might start out empty, but as we discover blessings God has planned for us in our small town, we could add them to the box and see all the good that the move brought us! I'm still working on getting this project together, but I want to list some blessings here as a way to remember and look expectantly ahead to the future.

blessings of our life as Hawks
-church home which provided us real fellowship and SO many friends
-Addie's first group of great friends, these girls are in church, dance, school together and are just precious friends!
-a wonderful, safe, comfortable home
-Keri's job as a teacher and coach-he had great success in football and loved teaching world history classes
-lots of football friends to share Friday nights with
-Girls of Grace Dance Co., where Addie learned the basics of ballet, tap, drill, and more importantly how to be a girl of grace, act like a lady, and glorify God in all she does
-such a family friendly town where we enjoyed great parks, a huge new library, and lots of kid's activities
-my job at our church which helped our family financially and gave me time to get to know some amazing women and kids
-wonderful friends for Keri and for me

small town blessings
-beautiful, nice house with a great yard and our kids' first swingset!
-super friendly neighbors-we met about 10 or 12 neighbors on our street the second night here including quite a few little kids on our street just Addie and Doak's age
-much slower paced life-less running around and more time spent at home
-town that is so excited to have Keri as a coach
-Head Football coach that is a genuinely nice guy, Christian man with a fun family!
-we can't wait to see what other blessings God brings us in our new home

Praying for God's peace and provision during all of these changes. Let me know when you're feeling settled and we'd LOVE to get together and get all caught up!!!
