When Keri was in college at Hardin Simmons he took a part time job working for the Bill and Michelle Bailey family. He picked up their three boys Trey, Tyler, and Tanner after school every day, took them home, got them started on homework, started dinner, and played the role of big brother. After a few months of working with this great family Bill got a job offer in Waco. Bill and Michelle prayed about it and then asked Keri to move with them to Waco. Keri transferred to Baylor, lived with the Baileys, and continued working for them for the next year and a half. We had such great times with the Baileys and I have so many wonderful memories of escaping my tiny apartment to go hang out at their house out in the country, enjoy a real home cooked meal, and relax.
When we were choosing a middle name for Doak we easily settled on Bailey. The Bailey Family was pretty much responsible for bringing Keri and me together since they brought Keri to Waco. And we thought it was fitting to name our son after the boys that were Keri's "practice sons"!
The Baileys live in Houston now and our visits are few and far between. But in the last 2 weekends we've had the pleasure of seeing the whole family!
Last weekend Bill, Michelle, Tyler, and Tanner came by after going to the Cotton Bowl. We had a great evening sharing dinner and catching up on 2 years worth of life!
This past weekend the oldest boy Trey came down from Oklahoma where he is in training for the Army to stay with us. We really enjoyed seeing him and Addie and Doak loved him! We love you Bailey family! Let's get together again soon!
