our latest

Friday I took Doak in to see our pediatrician. Wednesday night and all day Thursday he had a low fever, was poking his ear, and was having lots of trouble sleeping. He does have an ear infection in one ear and I'm so glad that I took him in before the weekend!

Cookie and Papa made the trip to come to the game and spend the weekend. They made great time so I decided to wait for them and ride together. We played at Royce City and it was their homecoming. They have a nice new stadium, but apparently they didn't put in enough parking. So we (and lots of other people) had to park a mile away at an elementary school and we were shuttled to the stadium. Addie was thrilled to ride on a yellow dog! She loves to watch the bus come through our neighborhood every afternoon and I think she felt like a big kid on the bus!

I'm SO glad Mom and Dad were with me. I can't imagine riding a
bus with Doak on my back and trying to keep Addie in her seat!

The game was a crazy one! We arrived in the beginning on the 2nd quarter and it was 7-7. By halftime the score was 20-21 and we were down. The Hawks really came out fighting in the second half and we won 42-28. So we're 7 & 0. What fun!

Saturday we slept late which was a huge blessing! The morning turned tragic when Doak fell hard and hit his two front teeth on the bathtub. Of course Dad and I were standing less than a foot away from him but we couldn't stop the fall. Poor little guy! He didn't bleed and the teeth look okay except for a few jagged edges. I plan to call the pediatric dentist to see what we need to do, but he doesn't seem to be bothered by them now. Later Saturday we visited the pumpkin patch here in town (forgot to get those pictures off Mom's camera!) and then drove to Frisco to see some old friends. We had a wonderful life group at Bent Tree Bible Fellowship when we lived in Little Elm. 3 couples had moved away (us to Garland, then Rockwall, another couple to Arlington, and another to Idaho). Our Idaho friends came in town and so it was time for a Life Group reunion. We had the greatest time catching up and seeing all the kids and new babies!

Sunday we decided to skip church since Doak wasn't feeling well and it was nice not to get up and rush around. Keri had to go to work but Cookie, Papa, the kids, and I enjoyed playing together until they had to leave around 4. What a great weekend! Mom and Dad-thanks for everything-for loving on us and the kids, for the clothes, for all the hard work on our projects around the house. We love having you come visit!

sorry about the ear infections... they surely make life for ALL yucky. What a neat thing to see your sweet ones in 2 of my favorite folk's arms... Cookie is the absolute RIGHT name for your mom!
