thanksgiving break

What a wonderful Thanksgiving! This year we spent the holiday with Keri's family-Jack, Dianna, Uncle Chad, Aunt Shannon, Uncle Rod, cousins Meg, Libby, and Grant, Uncle Mike, Aunt Lisa, and cousin Kate. We had a yummy dinner, played with airplanes outside, went for walks, watched football, and caught up with family.

The kids, young and old, played for hours with these planes!

See, even the 30 year old was entertained!

Addie wasn't too impressed with the planes, but she came out with a purpose and asked Pop Pop to cut some roses for her!

Look at these beauties!

Thanks Pop Pop!

Friday Jack and Keri went golfing while Dianna and I took the kids to the Fort Worth Children's Museum. Apparently it just reopened after a huge remodel. It was fabulous! I hope we can go back soon!

My favorite area of the museum-a classroom devoted to exploring light! You can't tell in this picture but Addie is holding a small flashlight and it 'writes' on this special pad. Awesome!

Addie found a crown and tried it on. She smiled for a picture so I snapped it fast! Lately she doesn't want to smile for pictures so I'll take all the posing I can get!

Last summer at the FCA retreat, Keri and I won a weekend stay at a local Westin hotel. We decided to use it for the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. The kids spent two days with Jack and Dianna while Keri and I had some time alone. Friday night we went to see The Blind Side. We both loved it!

Saturday we slept really, really late and got up just in time eat a complimentary breakfast in the restaurant hotel. It was delicious! Tons of fresh fruit, omelets, divine waffles.......mmmmmm!

After a few more hours of being lazy we drove over to Arlington to the new Cowboys Stadium. Well, we didn't actually drive to the stadium. We parked at a Panera a mile or two away and walked. It was good exercise and we saved about $40! We met some friends to tailgate for a while and then got in line to get inside the stadium. I think we waited in a line to get in (already had tickets, just waiting to pass through the gate) for about an hour! It was fun to see some old friends in line and catch up with them.

Once inside we found our seats and got ready for the game!

The Bears really played well for the first half and were up 10-0 at half time. But, sadly, we lost in the end.

Me and Keri at the game. What's that you ask? Where are the other tens of thousands of people? They would be in front of us. That's right, we were on the very top row!

Sunday we picked up our little munchkins and drove home where we were mostly lazy for the rest of the day. And that my friends is how I spent my Thanksgiving vacation. The end. : )

Hi Natalie! I'm making the rounds to let people know about another giveaway at Jelby's (since you entered last time). It's for a holiday shirt this time! Merry Christmas!

P.S. I'm a friend of Karen Smith, which I think you knew. My husband also went to HSU with yours. Small world!!

Sounds like a great Thanksgiving to me - a getaway and movie with your husband, sweet family time, fun at the Children's museum, AND a Baylor game at the new stadium. It's sad that I haven't been to a game since I graduated. :( Girl, we've GOT to get together soon before another month goes by.
