Addie's birthday was Saturday June 14th. She's 3! I still can't believe it! Keri was out of town hobnobbing with Mack Brown at the UT football camp which is always around the time of A's birthday. We all hate for him to be gone but working camps in the summer is like Keri's second (or should I say third?) job and over the years it has become an essential part of being in the coaching network. So, Keri wasn't here, but Cookie was and we celebrated all day long. Addie was thrilled to wake up and find *pink* balloons hung up in the kitchen and presents at her seat. We made blueberry muffins for breakfast-her favorite. We did a little shopping and then went to lunch. Addie picked Culver's for the special occasion. I blame Rhonda for our addiction-she suggested it as a place to try when we moved and now we eat there once a week! It is so good.

I bought a mini cake for her actual birthday for a few reasons. #1 She does not need much sugar to go into hyper-hypo mode. #2 Keri was out of town and I can not be trusted with cake leftovers! #3 Her party is Saturday and I'm attempting to make a castle cake. Pray that it is recognizable. Last year her cake was a fiasco. It tasted good but it looked horrible and was so embarassing!
After we had some cake I took Addie to see Kung Foo Panda. It was a decent movie and Addie enjoyed it but I would have preferred to have stayed home and watched Enchanted in our pjs. But the birthday girl wanted to go out with Mommy. Cookie and Doak happily played at home while we were out. It was a great birthday and it was made complete when Keri arrived home yesterday with some special gifts for his big girl.
Addie is so proud of her new art work. (it's a car if you can't tell!) Mardi gave Addie this Tissue Art kit and she has loved working on a new project each day.

Tuesday our friends Annalee and baby Adelaide came over to visit. We had such a great time with them. Being good Abilene girls we hit Taco Bueno for dinner and then put the kids to bed early. We stayed up late talking like old times and it was so good to catch up!

And for the miscellaneous. Doak hasn't really taken a pacifier except for a few emergency car situations early on. But since I'm putting him to down for naps and bedtime awake now sometimes I'll give him the pacifier or just put it somewhere in his crib. And last week in Oklahoma during the most sleepless night of my life as a mother I didn't hesitate to reach for it. He mostly chews on it and plays with it and it's so funny to watch.

Alright, the memory card is clear and ready for our next adventures. Tune in next week for some fun new pictures!

What a FUN day for the birthday girl! I'm sure she felt so special - especially to have some quality alone time with such a cool mommy. It looks like June is flying by - let's meet up early July maybe???
Looks like Addie had a blast on her birthday! Do you really cut a hot dog in pieces for her to eat? I am so glad that she is enjoying the tissue art. I love her creation. The pictures of Doak and pacifier are just precious. love you all
