Father's Day

He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it. ~Clarence Budington Kelland

Dear Daddy,

Thank you for being a wonderful father. Thank you for playing with me and making me feel important. Thanks for reading to me, napping with me, throwing me across the pool each summer. Thank you for giving me amazing experiences like trips to Colorado and D.C. Thank you for making jewelry with me and taking me back to school shopping!

Thank you for sacrificing for me. Thank you for giving me a safe car and driving around a car that had to be plugged in! Thank you for staying up late to put together bicycles, blow up birthday balloons, and write notes to me before school.

Thank you for teaching me. Thank you for taking me to church, for teaching me about God, and being an example of great someone with great faith. Thank you for sharing music with me, singing to me, and nurturing a passion for music in me.

Thank you for saying no to me. For telling me that if I got a tattoo you would cut it off! Thank you for letting me struggle so that I could learn and grow.

Thank you for your generosity. Thanks for moving us (too many times to count). Thanks for sending gift cards, bringing me Sonic drinks, or taking me to buy a new outfit. Thanks for letting me still be your little girl even though I'm grown. Thanks for calling just to say hi!

Thank you for being an involved Papa. Thank you for wanting to spend time with our kids, for knowing them, and loving them.

Thank you for being just the kind of Dad that I need.
