lost 45-7
Friday night ended up being our last game of the season. The kids and I bundled up and hit the road to travel to our game. (The site of the game happened to be in a town where we once lived, oh, 3 houses ago. It was the town where we lived when Addie was a baby! The stadium where we played our game Friday night was literally down the street from our old house. And we lived there and watched the stadium go up 3 years ago. It was fun to be back in our old town, which has grown like crazy in the past 3.5 years. ) Back to Friday. . .we loaded up the car and heard there was a terrible wreck on the highway, so we went on the back roads. I'm not a fan of driving at night or driving on back roads, but with the help and direction of some friends we made it to the game on time. Cookie and Papa greeted us in the parking lot and walked us into the game. As we approached the ticket taker, I reached for my district pass which gets our family into games for free. Before I could pull it out Addie said, "She's a coach's wife!". Guess she's heard that 10 times this year-she knows the drill!
We were so happy that Keri got us all passes to sit in the press box, so we enjoyed nice cushy chairs, room to roam, and a buffet as we watched the game. You can tell by the score that it wasn't the best game, but we played against a great team and were honored to be in the playoffs! After the game we ran onto the field one last time this season to give Daddy hugs and celebrate his first year as the Offensive Coordinator and a WINNING SEASON. So proud of him! On the way home Keri texted me "I love you all - thanks for sacrificing for me to do something I love" And those words just wrapped up the season perfectly!
This weekend, I enjoyed seeing my husband in the daylight and spending time with him all day Saturday and Sunday. The kids couldn't have been happier to have Daddy around too.
And I must say I'm thankful we get to have a few days (or weeks) of life after football season before we enter into life with three kids!
