Our little boy has become a big boy! He has changed so much in the last six months. He talks non stop and I would say the majority of his language could be understood by a stranger. He can't say /r/ or /l/ sounds, which we're not worried about at all since those are some of the last sounds to develop. But it is pretty cute and reminds me a lot of how my own brother spoke growing up. My favorite word he says is "Wywan" which, of course, is the name of his best buddy Rylan!

Doak is definitely opinionated. I figured that Doak would be an easy going boy when it came to wardrobe. Oh boy was I wrong! He has his own ideas about what he wants to wear and I've learned to accept it and usually let him pick out his own clothes. He LOVES underarmour shirts and athletic shorts and thanks to a shopping spree last month Dad and I have him pretty much stocked up! He has them in a rainbow of colors although his original red shirt is still his favorite. It cracks me up how he wants everything to match. The red shirt must be worn with red shorts (unless they aren't clean) and he wants red shoes and sometimes even red socks!

The black shirt goes with the black shorts and he wears black crocs with it.

He loves to wear the vintage helmet that has always hung in his room.

He brought it in the car one day last week and left it there. Last night we were driving to meet some friends at a park for a picnic dinner and playtime. Doak is giving up his nap and yesterday he didn't take one. Sweet little boy fell asleep before we even got to the park and he even slept with his helmet on!

And he always wants to take the helmet when he goes to school with Keri. He loves to run on the field and hang out in the coaches office. He constantly asks if he can go to Daddy's school.

Doak (and Addie) started gymnastics this week. He had the greatest time and displayed again that he has no fear!

Doak loves his Superman costume. He wears it daily and usually puts it on over his jammies at night! Lately I catch him jumping off of tables and chairs and when I get onto him he says in his deep voice, "no Mommy, it's okay because I'm super strong!"

I'm so proud to say that he's finally having some real success in the potty training department. He stayed clean and dry almost the whole time on our trip to Tennessee including the car rides so I knew he was capable. But since coming home from that trip he was getting his pull up wet lots. Last week at Kohl's he saw some Toy Story toys that he really wanted so I made a deal with him. He stayed clean and dry for 3 days (in real underwear) so he got to get a Buzz Lightyear. I've put away the pull ups, and although I'm washing extra clothes every few days, I'm so proud of his success and there's no turning back this time!

Sweet Doak there are days that you definitely give us a run for our money! You are all boy and you go full speed from dawn to dusk. You make life so fun! We love you so much and think you are the strongest, coolest 2 1/2 year old we know!
