Christmas 09

We woke up Christmas morning to warm sausage strata, banana bread, cranberry bread, and presents! The kids were so excited to open their stockings (my favorite!) and gifts!

The kids gave each other gifts this year-both got cars from the Cars movie.

Addie opening a fun beading kit from Jeff, Ami, Kiran, and Ellery. We were all sporting necklaces handmade by Addie a few minutes later!

Keri and Dad opening up tickets to see OSU play at the Cotton Bowl!

Addie reading one of her new books, Fancy Nancy's Splendiferous Christmas.

Doak lining up all his new cars! He is officially obsessed with anything to do with cars or trains!

We give the kids 3 gifts each year: something to wear, a toy, and a book. This year I wanted to give Addie, who loves all things fancy, an outfit that was over the top! I had this wild outfit made and she wanted to put it on right away!

Later in the day Addie was playing with her new (pink) doctor's kit and somehow she convinced Cookie to be her horse that would take her to visit her patients!

Papa and Addie reading a bed time story

and sharing a laugh!

Doak loves his new Cars books!

One of Addie and Doak's favorite gifts-books lights. They became flashlights, cell phones, microscopes! Not bad for $5!

Papa got Uncle Jeff's set up for playing cars and everyone enjoyed playing, making buildings out of blocks, and transforming the plywood into a real town!

The kids watching Sesame Street together one morning.

I asked Cookie to teach me how to make caramel corn, which she used to give all my teachers at Christmastime. We used the air popper to make the popcorn and Addie loved helping out and watching the corn pop!

Guess who got a new computer? ME!!! Yeah! Keri and I being dorks one night working side by side on our Macs.

Doak and Addie love to watch a short video made from clips from the Cars movie. I bet they watch it 3 or 4 times a day!

Cookie and Papa kept the kids and gave us two date nights! Saturday night we saw Sherlock Homes and Sunday night we had a date night with Cody and Ashley. We ate at Fuji, got Starbucks, and went to see Did You Hear About the Morgans? So fun!

-----------------------------------------------------
We had a blessed Christmas in Abilene with friends and family, although we really missed Jeff, Ami, Kiran, and Ellery who couldn't come home this year. We love you all and miss you!

Looks like a wonderful Christmas! I don't know if I ever told you, but at Ais' party I found Addie playing doctor with Kasen & it was SO cute. I'm sure she loves her doctor set.
