22 months old

Sweet Doak is 22 months old! There are so many things I want to remember about him at this age. Doak still loves his blankie and now his bedtime and naptime routines include spreading out 4 or 5 blankies on his bed. He loves to snuggle when it's his idea and he often asks, "Mommy-o rock me?". He is sleeping well in his toddler bed at night and still takes about a 2 hour nap each afternoon.










In the past month or so Doak's language has exploded! He frequently puts 5 words together to form a sentence like, "Daddy's white car Hawk game" or "Monster's Inc show funny Addie". He has finally started saying the /k/ sound so he can now say important words like Cookie and Kiran! (still working on Camryn and Kynna ; ) For a while he would call our dog "dogmine" but now he can say Kylie!




He calls Keri Daddy-0 and me Mommy-o. Not sure where he got that but it's pretty cute! If you ask Doak his name he will say "Daddy-o or Bubba". We wanted the kids to call each other sis or bub but looks like we've gone too far! Hopefully by Kindergarten he will claim the name Doak!

Doak is becoming very independent! I know he wants to be just like Addie so we have gotten rid of bibs, the booster seat at the kitchen table and he even walks at the grocery store now. It tends to make trips a little longer but he's happier and he does pretty well staying right by me and holding on to the cart.





Doak loves to count. One, two, free, four, fife, semin, eight, nine, ten! (still trying to get 6 in there somewhere!

He loves to look at letters of the alphabet and if I say the ABCs he will chime in with lots of letters in the correct order. He loves the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and the scholastic video version of it, just like Addie did at this age!



Doak still loves cars and will usually chose to play with cars over any other toy. He also loves playing outside on his little scooter or tricycle. Anytime I open the back door I hear, "ride bikes Mommy?" We've started walking around the neighborhood sans stroller and Doak loves to take along one of Addie's doll strollers to push.












I can't believe in less than two months this boy will be two!!!
