day one and day two

Yesterday was a restful day at the hospital. Addie did surprisingly well and enjoyed watching tv in bed all day while eating ice cream, pudding, and popsicles. She even ate some macaroni and cheese for dinner! Our only issue was getting her to take her pain medicine which we knew would be a challenge. She slept peacefully all night but woke up about midnight throwing up after her nurse gave her some medicine in her iv. We cleaned her up and put her back to bed and she slept until Chad walked in at 7:30 this morning.

This morning Addie woke up happy and ate a good bit of her breakfast of pancakes and eggs. We left the hospital at about 9:40 and were so happy to pull into the driveway 40 minutes later. Today was a lot like yesterday: ice cream, tv, and resting on the couch. Keri, Addie, and I took a family nap for about 2.5 hours today-it was heaven! Addie ate applesauce and a pb & honey sandwich for lunch and requested pizza for dinner. I'm amazed that she could eat without pain-that's great news! She's taking amoxicillan which she takes with no problem because it's pink and tastes like bubblegum. Since she won't take the prescription pain killer we're doing tylenol around the clock and it's working fine so far.

Rumor has it that days 3-5 are hard so we're going to bed early to rest up!

see the evidence of Culver's on her face?

I'm SO GLAD things are going well - hopefully this will mean a very healthy 2009 with little visits to the doctor! I wish we were closer so we could come eat ice cream with you guys!

that's divine providence that you live near Culver's so Addie can have it after her tonsils came out! :0)
