This thing is the devil.
Don't know what it is? Neither did I until today. It's a nebulizer. One that I have to use on sweet Doak multiple times a day for the next 10 days. Fun times.
I can't even remember how many times we've been to the pediatrician since school started. I'm going to guess 5 or 6. We've had ear infections, influenza, viruses, snotty noses, congestion and now . . . Doak has the flu. He has influenza type B (Addie had type A). Doak started wheezing Monday night and it got worse yesterday and he had a fever last night. So we drove up to see our pediatrician and had him swabbed for the flu. It was positive. His lungs sounded really bad so the NP had us do a breathing treatment before we left. Which brings me back to the nebulizer. I did the treatment in the office and Doak was screaming and squirming, trying to pull the mask off his face. After about 1 minute Addie started crying and telling me over and over to "turn it off!". Thank you Lord that medical assistant heard the screams (from both kids and maybe me ; ) ) and came in to save the day. She read Addie books and took her to get some stickers, tatoos, and a sucker. The funniest thing is that she got about 5 Hannah Montana stickers and she has no clue who she is. The nurse asked Addie, "Do you like Hannah Montana" and she responded that she did. Now she's asking me to look at her Hannah Pontato stickers! I love her innocence!
So if you have a moment please say a prayer for little Doak, for his lungs, for Addie not to get the flu (again), and for sanity during the breathing treatments. Keri and I will be up every four hours tonight and the next few night doing breathing treatments so if you can't sleep give us a call!

So sorry to hear - we went through the same thing. They gave us something to just hold under Beclynn's nose so she didn't have to wear the mask - you might just hold the mask out too and not put it on him. You are in our prayers. Maelynn and I would sing to Beclynn while we were doing it - and she still starts to cry when I sing. Not fear to wake up small ones when they are finally sleeping through the night!!
Hey. Maddie and Wyatt both have horrible asthma, so we are very familiar with breathing treatments. I always have to remind myself that the more they cry the more the medicine is able to work deep into their lungs. Yeah...that is a little hard to do when they are looking at you with those sad eyes. Hang in there...and we will be praying for sweet Doak and the whole family.
Oh girl, we've been down this road. I'm sorry your family has to endure this. Many prayers for everyone's safe recovery.
i am praying for you guys.
Oh Natalie, no fun! I had asthma as a kid and can remember those breathing treatments. I'm praying that it passes quickly and that the Lord gives both you and Keri energy and endurance throughout the day.
Oh Natalie Im so sad for sweet Doak! :( We will be praying for him and your whole family!
Oh the flu...and the neb treatments-are not fun times. If Doak will not hold it on his face. You guys can hold it close to him. I know this is hard, but the neb treatments do actually help. Prayers for all!

I'm sorry. :( Do you have the paci attachment? Kasen will still happily chew on that during treatment OR we just use the tube part to blow in his face.
I hope he's feeling better by now though.
