are you ready for some football?

We are! Keri's first game was in Waco on Saturday. So Addie and I packed up and made the trip down. Cookie met us there for some shopping, dinner at Ninfa's, and then we headed to the game. Addie looked so cute in her cheerleader outfit that Grandma Ford made-thanks Ma! As we drove up to the stadium Addie said, "this is amazing!" During the game she gave commentary like, "he fell down", "they're playing catch", and "they're not playing anymore" (during a timeout). She really watched the game and even cheered "I want a touchdown!" She loved the halftime show with the bands and the dancing girls. She got a little restless in the fourth quarter, but was really such a good girl during the whole game!

We spent the night at a hotel with Cookie and slept so good! Addie slept until 9:30 which is absolutely unheard of! We got up and went to Panera for breakfast-yum! Then we went to the Cameron Park Zoo.

After lunch at McAlister's we stopped by the Baylor Spirit Shop to get some new Baylor gear. I'm happy to say that we all have a Baylor shirt that fits now and we even got baby Doak something to wear after he arrives.

We had a great weekend-thanks for coming to see us Cookie!

The life of a coach and his family is one not understood by many. My favorite coach is one I'm proud to stand behind, cheer for, and work beside. I'm thrilled to haul the kids and all their gear across Texas every Friday night in the fall to be there for him. And I'm blessed that he wants us there. I love the way he searches the stands for us before every kick off, signing 'i love you' before he turns his attention to the field. I love watching him during games. I've seen him run the sidelines as his running back breaks for a touchdown. I've seen him embrace players who have just made big mistakes. I've seen him 'bump' guys that have made winning plays. I've seen him passionately discuss with other coaches. I've seen countless numbers of players come up to him after every game for a hug and a pat on the back. I've watched as young men from years past drive in from college to watch a game from the sidelines and see Coach T. And when I see all this, I know this crazy life we have is not just about winning games or going to the playoffs. It's about perseverance, integrity and character. And it's about the kids. My husband may not work at a church, but he is in the ministry and I'm proud to be the football coach's wife.
