Last Sunday we left the kids with Cookie and Papa and drove in a strangely quiet car to Austin for THSCA Coaching School. This was our first time to leave the kids and go to Coaching School alone. We realized how much we needed some time to ourselves. We swam, slept, lounged, read, ate, and enjoyed being together. Keri had meetings in the mornings and I attended some events put on by the Wives' Association. My favorites were Bunco and Bingo (I made Keri come too!) We won quite a few great prizes and loved competing to see who could Bingo first. We've decided to take one trip each summer by ourselves, whether it's to Coaching School or something else.

Can you tell Keri was beyond exited about dinner at Fogo de Chao?
We both ate way too much and I've reached my quota of steak for a year or two!

and I read Confessions of a Shopaholic (silly and fun summer reading).

BINGO!

We won a picture frame, a makeup bag filled with fun skincare from ULTA,

a bottle of wine, and a wine tasting for 4 at a winery near San Marcos!

We also got to spend some time with Valerie and Chris. Val was my very first friend when we moved to Little Elm 4 years ago and she's also a coach's wife. They have moved a few times in the past few years (just like us) so it was great to catch up with them in person!

Some time away really left us refreshed and ready to see our sweet kids on Wednesday. Thanks to Mom and Dad for keeping the kids-they are still talking about all the fun times they had with you.
