sleep, glorious sleep
For the past week or so this family hasn't had much sleep. Doak is teething and my precious boy who has been sleeping through the night since he was 6 weeks old has been waking up twice in the night. Addie has had trouble going to sleep at night and has also been waking up in the night. Over Memorial Day weekend we went out of town (more on that later) and they really, really got messed up on their sleep! Last night they both slept all night-yeah! Doak has learned to go to sleep without being rocked and his naps are no longer the short 45 minute naps, but are over an hour and a half. Today I set Addie up for big girl story time right after lunch. Doak was asleep and as soon as she settled in with a book I went to my room, shut the door and started paying bills. A normal big girl story time brings Addie into my room at least once or twice-asking for milk, needing to go to the bathroom, wanting another book, etc. Today there was not a peep from her, but I stayed busy in my room until I heard her timer go off. I expected her to come running, saying, "Mommy, I did it! I stayed in my room and read books!" But she never came. My curiosity got the best of me so I peeked through her door and found her under the covers sound asleep.
