all for the kids

Here are some of my favorite things for babies and kids.

BOOKS
Addie loves books! She loves books we've had since she was a baby and she loves getting new books. After we've read a new book to her once or twice, she starts "reading" it to herself. I have to brag that she has the best memory and pre reading skills! She once checked a book out about Jonah. I read it to her once and then heard her reading it saying, "God gave Jonah a task. He told Jonah to go to Ninevah." I was so proud!

Annie's Organic food

When Addie started eating solid food, I became so interested in learning about various organic foods that our family could try. We love Annie's mac & cheese, crackers, and bunnies!

MUSIC
I always said I wouldn't be one of those people who only listened to kid's music. We have a happy mix of Mommy's music, Daddy's music, and kid music. Some of our favorites are Laurie Berkner, Dan Zanes, Veggie Tales, and some of my old CD's from teaching days. We also love to make up songs or change words of songs we know to be about our family.

BABY CARRIERS
Hi, I'm Natalie, and I'm a baby carrier-aholic. I currently have 4 carriers and I really want another. They all are fabulous and I love them all for different reasons. The best overall has to be the Mobywrap. The picture shows the first time Doak was in the Mobywrap. He loved it from the beginning! I still use it 3 or 4 times a week. And if he's fussy it always works to calm him down. My other favorites are my pouch sling from 360bebe and I really want a ring sling!

BATH TOYS
We have some foam dolls for the bathtub that Addie loves. You stick them on the side of the bathtub or tile and then dress them up with different outfits or accessories. We love them! The ballerina outfit is Addie's favorite.

GIGI BOOKS
We have recently been introduced to Gigi books. They are written for little girls who love all things princess. The emphasis is on the fact that we are true princesses because we are daughters of the King!

CLIFFORD CRUNCH
Another great organic find. These are a great snack dry or with milk.

STRAW CUPS
We love straw cups. I read an article somewhere that straw cups were better than sippy cups in regards to oral development. So that's what we use. I love these take and toss brand cups. We reuse them, but it's nice to know that if you lose one or need to throw one out it's no big deal!

BUMPY LABELS
These labels are are like big rubberbands. They can be taken on and off of cups and are personalized how ever you like. You can put the child's name or include a food allergy if needed. They're much cuter than using a magic marker!

WHOLESOMEBABYFOOD.COM
This website is awesome. I made all of Addie's baby food and plan to do the same for Doak. The website gives a suggested order to introduce foods, sample menus, and recipes for making your own baby food.

BABY TAD
This was one of Addie's first toys. She still plays with it almost 3 years later! Our friends Sarah and Ryan gave it to Addie and it is probably one of the most used toys we've had!

BURTS BEES SKIN CREME
This stuff is heavenly. The smell brings up so many emotions and memories. Addie had lots of diaper rashes and this stuff worked really well. It can be used all over the body but is formulated to work well on the diaper area.

HAPPY COW MILK
There is research that shows a connection between early puberty and hormones in milk. Organic milk is something that I will pay big bucks for. I want my little girl to be a little girl for a long time.

YELLOW FOAM BATH SPONGE
We've had the hardest time with baby bathtubs. The ones that support little babies are too small, the ones that are big enough don't support a baby who can't sit up! This $5 sponge has been the easiest solution we could find. Doak loves bathtime now that he's comfortably reclining!

What a great list! My favs are the music, books, and bumpy labels. I will definitely be adding many of these to my list the next time I make a run to the store!
