It was a dead snake! The kids have been collecting all kinds of bird feathers and other nature items from our walks. Our friend Angie told us about the swap shop at the Houston Zoo, where kids bring in interesting things they find and swap for other items. I knew the snake had to be saved just for this reason. It was my idea, of course, to collect it but there was no way I was going to touch it! Doak held the snake for a minute but decided he didn't like it. So brave Addie rode all the way home with it draped over her bike. (don't let her fool you, she thought it was awesome!)
