how we spent our ice-in vacation

Texas was hit by an ice storm last Monday night. I woke up around 4am to the LOUD sound of sleet falling. At 5:30 Keri got up to check for school closings....our district had canceled school! I love the feeling of waking up to check and finding out you can go back to sleep! As it turned out, the temperature here stayed below freezing so the ice didn't melt and school kept being canceled. Early Friday morning snow fell and we got around 6 inches....which meant 1 more day out of school. We loved having 4 days together, although cabin fever set in pretty quickly!

Here's a few pictures from our week:

Cookie and Papa made it to town Saturday after the ice melted. We loved having them here and we had a great time celebrating Keri's birthday (2/2), Mom's birthday (2/2), and my birthday (1/28). Mom and Dad got Keri and me a Wii and we had so much fun playing!

Addie and Cookie played games, read books, and even did homework together.

Cookie and Papa took lots of time to love on little Brock-who has grown so much since they saw him in December!

All in all, it was a great week at home. Very restful and full of family fun time!
