our little girl of grace

Saturday was Addie's first dance recital and it was just precious. Addie's class performed a ballet, tap, and drill dance in the recital. Girls of Grace teachers Mrs. Mandy and Mrs. Sarah are amazing and taught the girls so much more than basic dance skills! They worked on a fruit of the spirit each month, taught the girls how to act like little ladies, and we can really see how much Addie learned and how she is growing up to be a girl of grace!

Sweet Addie had a horrible cold and was a mess the day of the recital. My friend, I mean mentor, Stephanie was helping back stage and she deserves a major shout out for wiping Addie's nose and eyes over and over during the show!

The show was about 45 minutes long with each class performing 3 dances. Each dance had to do with a fruit of the spirit and they were all beautiful. I'm not ashamed to say that I cried more than once. It just amazed me to see how God could work through the lives of these tiny dancers.

I went back and forth between tearing up and laughing hysterically during the tap number. Addie's friend Alexandra's shoe went flying off in the middle of the dance but she did so well and just kept dancing! The girls were all concentrating so hard to remember the dance and there were lots of BIG shuffles and stomps going on. (hope those are the right terms, I'm not a dancer so I have no clue!)

After the recital Mrs. Mandy and Mrs. Sarah had each girl come on stage individually to receive a Fruit of the Spirit sash. As each girl walked out she got to do a twirl, leap, or a combination of many twirls and leaps! ; ) It was hilarious to see how some girls loved the spot light and others ran across the stage as quickly as they could.

Addie had so many friends and family come to see her dance, let's see if I can list them all! Cookie, Papa, Nanna, Pop Pop, Aunt Amy, cousins Camryn and Makynna, Grandpa Delbert, Mrs. Kathy, Katy, Jeremy, and Aislyn, Mommy, Daddy, and Doak. What a blessing it is to have supportive and involved friends and family!

AHS Eaglettes aka Gold Rush-gotta love her!)

Oh my goodness! I remember Mandy. She was my BSF instructor here in Abilene before she moved. I absolutely loved and respected her so much. You will have to tell her hello for me!! What an awesome program they have started. Addie is beautiful and is definitely a girl of grace!
