a night without kids!!!

We were really blessed this weekend. On Saturday my Uncle Bill called. He and his wife Sheila were in Fort Worth to run the Cowtown Marathon. Sheila ended up getting really sick so they were heading home early. They had reservations at Etta's Place, a beautiful Bed & Breakfast in Sundance Square and they wondered if we could use a night out. Um, let me think about that . . . YES! We called Keri's mom and she agreed to babysit. (we only had to twist her arm a little!) We ran over and dropped the kids off Saturday around 6pm and headed out for a night on the town. We checked into the Honeymoon Suite and got changed for dinner. We ate at Cantina Laredo in Sundance Square-yum! It was fun to just walk right around the corner for dinner-we felt like 'city folk'. Dinner was fabulous and of course we stuffed ourselves but left just enough room for some Marble Slab ice cream on our way back to the B & B. We thought about going to a movie, but we decided sleep sounded really good!

We woke up Sunday morning and had a great breakfast at Etta's Place and then went back to get the kids. Nanna and Pop Pop were amazing as usual and Addie and Doak did great. Doak slept all night and woke up at 9am. He took his first bottle that morning and took it like a champ. (We kept meaning to start offering a bottle every once in a while, but it hadn't happened yet!)

Sunday afternoon we went to check out the town of Saginaw, which is one of the places we might be moving to! We drove through town, checked out the high school, and then drove 20 minutes to Keri's sister Amy's house for a bday party for Bryan. (I have to stop here and say how fun it would be to move to Saginaw and be minutes away from Amy, Bryan, Camryn, and Makynna.) We had a great afternoon seeing Keri's family and eating some great steak!

Keri has an interview tomorrow (tues 2.26) in Saginaw for an Offensive Coordinator position. Pray for him @ 1:30!

Sorry, Saginaw is TOO FAR, but I guess I'll pray anyway! I'm so glad you and Keri got away - very needed and deserved!

Sounds like an evening in Heaven! What good kiddos they were for the grandparents! I'm impressed! We will be praying for you guys. Saginaw is closer to Fort Worth...so we would be in favor :)
