June 13 (just 13 days after moving . . . whew!) we packed up the car and drove east! We had the car stocked up with entertainment and a cooler full of food, thanks to Cookie! The 12+ hour drive on day one could not have gone more smoothly! We gave Addie her birthday present of a kindle one day early and I loaded it with 9 new books. She was happy to read the whole trip! Doak loves to listen to audio books from the library. His current favorite series is A to Z Mysteries. He spent the day listening to stories and playing with an occasional toy. Brock was a rock star and was just happy to look out the window, look at books, or play with a toy.
The only bump in the road was trying to get these three to fall asleep! Doak fell asleep around 10, Addie followed at 10:30 and Brock fussed and fought sleep until 11. Keri and I took turns driving and listened to music or comedians on Spotify to keep us awake. We pulled into our hotel at 1:40 and have never been happier to see a bed!
