Dad started the Couch to 5K program this summer shortly after I started running. It was fun to have someone to talk about running with and to cheer each other on across the miles. When I saw an ad for a 5K right here in our town I asked Dad if he would run it with me. He agreed and the rest is history!
My running time was seriously decreased this fall since Keri only makes it home during daylight hours once a week. And if you know me, you know there's no way I would wake up early to go running! But I managed to run once a week and add in walks or stroller runs when necessary. The week before the race I ran with Brock in the stroller and the big kids following me on bikes. It's not my preferred method but it kept me in good enough shape not to collapse during the race.

The race benefitted the American Diabetes Association. It's pretty neat that the day we ran we also went to the wedding of my longtime friend who has had diabetes since he was in elementary school. We thought it was a cool way to honor him!

Mom was awesome and got all 3 kids fed, loaded in the car, and to the race site to cheer us on!

We didn't win, but we did run the whole time and finish the race which was the goal. I loved experiencing this with my Dad! Love you Daddy!
