game #5
won 41-7
won 41-7
This week was Homecoming which meant a few extra festivities this week. Friday after we picked Addie up at school we drove to the high school for the pep rally. We stood on the gym floor with Keri and watched the cheerleaders, drill team, heard a speech from some football boys, and cheered for our team. The kids love being up at Keri's school and loved saying hi to the cheerleaders and their buddies on the football team.
Friday night we had the greatest time. Three families from our church came to the game with us and we sat on the grass near the track in lawn chairs. The stands were super crowded and as a coach's wife it's nice to be away from the general population as sometimes people make uninformed remarks about the coaches and players that aren't fun to hear! The kids love the freedom of running around on the grass and playing with their friends. My mom also drove into town for the weekend and made it right around halftime to watch the game with us.
The team played great and won 41-7! It's a much more enjoyable game when we are ahead early on! So proud of our boys, especially the offense and their 41 points!
The thing that makes me most proud of my coach is not the score or the win. Friday three of Keri's former players drove an hour to come see Coach T and watch the game. He coached these boys for one year at SGHS and made such an impact that they still keep in touch and want to show up to support him-they even wore the school colors! Seeing those boys and Keri makes me realize that all the time away and the stress of the season is worth it.
Current record 4 wins 1 loss
